About Us

Dr. KareLin Ellis Consulting was inspired by the ever-growing prison population struggling with significant life circumstances unrelated to criminality, but that often leads to criminal justice involvement when left unaddressed. As a consulting firm, we pride ourselves on offering services that historically have been exclusively offered to individuals assigned a public defender. Our approach is rooted in Justice for All and the realization that every voice deserves to be heard and considered, even when they are stuck in the web of the criminal justice system. We are committed to creating safer communities by addressing the root causes of criminal/ addictive behavior.

Our values

At Dr. KareLin Ellis Consulting, our core values guide everything we do. We are committed to justice for all,  ensuring every voice is heard within the criminal justice system. We strive to address the root causes of criminal behavior to create safer communities in New Port Richey, Florida, and beyond.

Information

My Journey started with Treag.  Treag was my scared straight pen pal when I was in foster care.  Treag was serving a life sentence for Manslaughter.  At the age of 16, Treag and his friend entered a convenience store intending only to rob the store.  Unfortunately, during the commission of the robbery, the store owner was killed by Treag's accomplice.  While in prison, Treag had finished school, gone on to obtain a paralegal degree, and was a trusted inmate within the facility for all the work he'd done.  Treag's case fascinated me, and I wanted to know more. Treag was the first adult who told this lost foster child that she could do anything, no matter her circumstances, if she set her mind to it.  I received my PhD in Criminal Justice from St. Leo University, after being told by the foster system I'd have five kids and live on welfare.  I lived my life by the principles Treag taught me - not the foster system.  In some ways, Treag and I were both doing time. He was one of my only friends during that dark period of my life. Because of Treag, at 15 years old, I started studying and never stopped.  I am 51 years old now, and I don't know where Treag is today, but I hope my work is a testament to the good he did in spite of the mistakes he made as a youth.
